House of Gharats – An Inventive Take on Indigenous Craftsmanship
Back in March 2013 SHE ran a feature about Sabyasachi Suite in the Taj Hotels’s 51 Buckingham Gate property. Over a year later the hotel’s publicity department caught wind of the article and invited me to see the suite in person. What happened next could not be described as anything shot of serendipitous. Neishaa Gharat, founder of House of Gharats was also attending an event at the Taj that same day. After being introduced by the hotel’s venerable publicity team, we found a synergy like any other. Gharat founded her eponymous label with the aim of both reviving indigenous craftsmanship and offering clients timeless investment pieces that can be worn for generations. Standing for many of the same values and principles as SHE – including offering aid and support to those less fortunate – introducing Gharat’s work to our readers could not be more appropriate.
